Understanding Human Memory
The issue I chose is understanding the human memory. The reason I chose this issue is because of my major which psychology and because the human brain is intriguing. So little is known about the human brain even with all the medical advances we have currently. The function of the brain known as memory is one of the most unknown things about the human brain. There are two different types of memory which are explicit and implicit memory. Explicit memory is the memory of addresses, phone numbers, & capitals of states. Implicit memory includes riding a bike, remembering faces, or juggling.
I think this is an important issue because learning about the human brain can help in so many fields of research and in education. Understanding how the brain memorizes and remembers things can help teachers form better teaching plans for their students. Psychology would also be further benefited by understanding memory because they would be able to help their patients to remember things they forgot or to get over memories that are affecting their everyday life.
